Forthcoming Events

17th July - John and Gaynor have organised a run to Pinoso. We shall meet at Manolos at 10.30am for a start at 11.00am. Part way through the run we shall stop at Hondon de los Frailes for a coffee. We shall pass through a number of small villages on the route and the road is a great one to drive on for the cars. Once we arrive in Pinoso you will have approximately an hour to yourselves to wander around the town or sit outside a bar watching the world go by! We shall then have lunch at 2.00pm. Those wishing to attend, please let Gaynor know by Friday 15th July in order for numbers to be given to the restaurant.

7th August - Ron is planning a "cool run" for August which will consist of a late afternoon drive followed by an evening meal. Further details will be given at the August meeting.

October - Joseph and Evelyn are looking into holding the anniversary dinner at La Herradura in Los Montesinos.

Christmas - we know its a little early but we need to get something booked! Ron asked those present if they were happy to return to Rebate. All agreed that this was an excellent venue so Ron will make enquiries and get a firm booking. The proposed date for this is 11th December.

July Club Meeting

July Meeting

There were 16 members present at the July meeting, with apologies from Keith Nicol and Steve & Jean McClean - Steve and Jean are currently in the UK taking a peek at their new grandaughter, congratulations to all the family.
There was one guest present, Wendy, Sue Lakin's daughter.

Last month's events went very well.
We had the MABS party in the park in San Javier which was enjoyed by all those who attended, with a few of the ladies getting up to dance to some of the numbers.

The other event was the display at Ole del Mar with a run beforehand through the Parque Natural - thanks to Keith Lakin for the drive through the park.

Ron advised that the Club books have been audited.
This is something that we do not have to do but it is felt that it is best to have them done. The current balance is 1333.97 euros.
Anyone wishing to view the books may do so by speaking to Joseph. Ron thanked Joseph for the good job he has done to date with the book-keeping.

Dave Billings of the Sunday Drivers Club has passed on details of a guy who can repair leather seating at a reasonable cost and he is based in Torrevieja - anyone interested in this service please contact Ron for the number.

We have 2 new cars in the club -
Keith Lakin has a Mercedes 380SL (he has bid a sad farewell to Hector!) and Lesley has a Pontiac Firebird (Mike is allowed to drive it now and again!).

Paul and Angela have been sending Ron and Muriel an update on their travels and Muriel has printed them off so anyone wishing to have a read and see what they've been up to please feel free to take a look.

Any Other Business
Keith Lakin Birthday Celebrations
Keith Lakin will be celebrating his 65th birthday and joining the league of pensioners later this month.

Sue and Keith have invited all Members to a party on the 30th July at their house to help him celebrate, 7.30pm for 8.00pm. For those that do not know where Sue and Keith live, they will meet you at the Happy Garden restaurant at Lo Pepin (just off the Lemon Tree Road).
The German members shall meet at Dieters and travel from there. Anyone wishing to take a dip in the pool, please bring your swimwear.

Mystery Drive and Meal

Ron has organised a "Mystery Drive" and "Mystery Meal" for 17th April. 

Meeting point is the Lo Monte hotel at 11.00am.
